About Me

Hi, I’m Nathan!

Nathan Linton

My goal is to make the world more kind and fair.

As a rule, kindness inspires me, apathy frustrates me, injustice infuriates me and my faith sustains me. My partner, friends and family are my ever enduring sources of love, wisdom, hope and support.

I work and advocate for social justice, peace & non-violence, sustainable development, young people and the environment. Currently, I’m a Director and the Deputy Chair at Concern Australia.

I moved to Canberra from Melbourne in early 2024 and live with my amazing husband Josh. I love learning, reading, camping, gardening, skiing, listening to music and podcasts and and spending time with family and friends!

You can follow me on Twitter, LinkedIn & Mastodon

About This Blog

Too often, our biggest challenges are reduced to simple soundbites and slogans. This is where I connect and share my thoughts, reflections & experiences with those that want to engage with topics, ideas and issues on a deeper level than the media or our feeds will often allow us.

Check out the blog for my latest musings, my recommended resources or get in touch.

What I do Professionally

Nathan Linton

I’m currently a Director and the Deputy Chair of the Board at Concern Australia, a Christian organisation working with vulnerable young people & children, aged 5-25 years, creating opportunities for them to enjoy full and meaningful lives. Concern Australia’s programs reach over 30,000 young people a year in the areas of housing, homelessness, training, employment & youth justice.

I am also a freelance consultant working with organisations and businesses in the social impact space. To find out more, visit the contact me page or check out my profile on Upwork.

Most recently, I was the Youth & Children’s Operations Manger at the Brotherhood of St Laurnence and Youth Ministry Coordinator at Ashburton Baptist Church. Previously, I was the Head of Impact at Oaktree, Australia’s largest youth-led international development organisation. At Oaktree, I led the expansion of Oaktree’s Youth Solidarity Fund, commissioned the world-leading report ‘Young People & COVID-19 in the Asia-Pacific: Opportunities & Challenges‘ and launched Oaktree’s campaign on youth rights. I have also worked in the Youth Programs Team at the Country Fire Authority (CFA) in Victoria, Australia, one of the world’s largest volunteer-based emergency services organisations.  I helped oversee CFA’s youth programs, including the Junior Volunteer Development Program which involved over 1,200 young people and supported the organisation to increase youth engagement in volunteerism, fire safety and the emergency management sector.

I have a Master of International Development Practice and a Bachelor of Arts from Monash University.

You can see more of what I do professionally here.

I am available for external engagements such as speaking, coaching, workshop faciliation and consulting. If you think there’s a way we can work together, please get in touch!

Faith

Nathan Linton

I think Jesus is hands down the most awesome person to have ever lived.  I’m passionate about making Jesus’ radical message of love, hope, peace and justice accessible to everyone by creating a church which is inclusive of all people – particularly women & the LGBT+ community.

I have particular interests in the social gospel, practical theology and understanding the Bible in light of its cultural, historical and literary contexts.  To me, faith is more than just believing, it’s about putting God’s love into practice and making the world a better place.

I have written on my blog about my experiences of being previously part of the Christadelphian community. For current and former Christadelphians struggling with their experience, know you can reach out to me for a ‘listening ear’ or support at any time.

You can listen here to a collection of sermons I’ve delivered.
